THESE SOUGHT AFTER TRANSMISSIONS BASED ON THE SUCCESSFUL RICHMOND NASCAR-TYPE DESIGN ARE BACK !! THESE ARE EXCITING TIMES INDEED, FOR ONCE AGAIN WE HAVE A RACE PROVEN, BULLET PROOF TRANSMISSION.

Designed to appeal to the Muscle Car, Street Rod or Modified Restoration builder, these are a direct bolt-in replacement for Muncie or Borg-Warner 4 Speeds. The heritage of this 5-Speed Overdrive dates back to the proven Doug Nash racing transmission with the split case. All the improvements have been incorporated to give an actual 600 + ft/lb of torque rating !!  Transmission is fully synchronized with 3.33 first gear and .077 overdrive fifth gear. The problem with other overdrive transmissions is that you usually have a usable low gear but a far too high overdrive ratio, resulting in a trans with its capabilities outside the users needs.  Richmond has done their homework on this 5-Speed Overdrive -- you can launch your car with drag strip capabilities and yet have a freeway cruising 5th gear. The 3 options of 1st gear ratios to compliment a variety of rear axle ratios that you may have existing in your car, eliminate rear axle gear ratio changes in many cases. These transmissions bolt-up directly to your existing bell housing. NO adapter required. They also use the massive GM 32-spline Turbo 400 style output shaft & slip yoke. The included shifter is a beautifully crafted, USA made, NASCAR proven shifter by LONG. All components are billet machined, shift rods use high performance spherical joints - the quality of these shifters is second to none. Bolt-on shifter handle is available in different lengths and offsets. Length of transmission from bell housing surface to end of tail housing is 21.5"  long.
